Neurosomatics coaching

Reconnect with yourself, build peace & self-awareness and begin to trust yourself again

Do you feel disconnected from your body? Has years of dieting, restriction, overeating, over-exercising, under-exercising and living a life trying to meet societal expectations left you feeling like you don’t know what your body needs and how to listen to it? Do you feel constantly anxious, stressed, burnt out or low mood? Do you move from coping strategy to coping strategy (food, alcohol, overworking, etc.)? Does feeling at home and connected to your body feel totally unattainable?

I have met my self and I am going to care for her fiercely.

What is neurosomatics coaching?

In order to change how you eat and exercise, you have to change how you think.

But ‘mindset coaching’ alone is too much of a cognitive approach. Sure, sometimes mindset-based tools can help you but when you’re in certain states of your nervous system, your body is physically unable to “change mindset”. It’s just trying to survive. It needs bottom-up and body-based approaches.

It makes sense that you have developed disordered eating habits because our brains are built to change, reorganise and grow (neuroplasticity). This makes them very susceptible to messaging from the environment around us. You were saturated with diet culture messaging from a young age and your prefrontal cortex continues to develop until mid-late 20s. So your neural pathways have developed to make you think that way. The good news is, our brains are built to change (thank you neuroplasticity), so we can rewire them to change our relationship with food and our bodies.

Think of neurosomatic coaching as mind-body coaching.

Creating a more caring, compassionate and connected future, starting from within our bodies.

How this helps you…

The more you feel connected with your body, the more likely you are to treat it well (and yourself). It can be really hard to treat your body with respect, love and nourishment when you don’t like it very much (that’s one reason why repeating affirmations about how much you love it can be super unhelpful).

Feelings of connection and ‘living in’ your body (embodiment) are associated with lower rates of disordered eating (including restriction, emotional eating and binge eating), and a more positive body image, as well as better connections with others (cue a better sex life) and better overall wellbeing. It’s also a protective factor in the development of disordered eating.

If you’ve tried nutrition plan after nutrition plan, gone through multiple diet and exercise types and found nothing’s worked, this is an alternative that will change you from the inside out.
