The weekly perspective

One question to ask yourself

What is true about you today that would make your 8 year old self cry?

Journal on this -  it's not actually my question this week I read it on a Mark Manson blog a few years ago. Is it something to be proud of? Something you know you need to change?

Something to consider

You can work from a state of calm or overwhelm, the amount of work stays the same

What would you rather? Despite what you might believe or tell yourself, there's a large amount of choice in how you respond to things thrown at you this week.

One thing I'd tell my younger self.

Don't let go of your courage the moment things stop being easy or rewarding because that's the moment where interesting begins

It's easy to be securely attached when you're not in a relationship. Easy to be confident when you're in a job and situations that feel comfortable for you. Easy to be motivated when you're loving the process. The real test of courage is leaning in when things feel harder, when they don't bring you joy or what feels like peace.

One thing to try this week

Schedule time to take care of yourself

It's wild to me when I look at the diaries of some coaches I work with that they don't schedule a lunch break then wonder why their relationships with food aren't great. That some of you reading this don't schedule time outside for a walk, or for a shower after lunch. Instead you cram it all in to the spaces for maximum productivity bro. Schedule it and watch the ease that you invite into your life. I don't' mean manicures and blow outs. I mean scheduling half an hour for lunch (not just the amount of time it takes to inhale your food), for a shower after the gym, to read, to rest. All of this where possible (I know kids add another layer).

Thank you all for continuing to share your favourite Monday email quotes. I see them all.
